Named after an extraordinary actress that climbed her way to stardom. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, she attended Howard University. She had various roles in movies and television but is best known for playing Helen Willis on The Jeffersons. One of the few well known Black actors in the 1970’s and 1980’s, she always maintained her class and grace when answering certain questions. Named after a very regal little girl. She believes she is a Queen but there can only be one. She is elusive, caring, full of love and wants what she wants, when she wants it. She is spoiled to no end and she knows she deserves it. She knows her worth. The Show Stoppa! Named after a woman from the Boogie Down Bronx. We are also a part of Chi Eta Phi, Sorority Incorporated (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIO2xNpHPW0). I remember seeing her in a red outfit in the lobby of the Howard Towers (West) while we were students at Howard University. She looked absolutely fantastic and I complimented her on how good she looked, she responded that her red outfit is the “Show Stoppa”. I never forgot that so when I see a bold, red pattern, it’s got to be for “The Show Stoppa” herself. Plus, she is a treasured friend who can be real with me.

Named after a woman with the kindest soul. I first met her when I moved back to the east coast and she a joyous character to match her beauty. I am watching her from afar because she has impressed me so much. I am so proud of this mogul in the making, taking charge of her life and business while she is taking no prisoners. Named after a resilient woman that is unshakable. This outstanding woman has so many stories to tell, she has faced many personal and professional tragedies. She was also a part of the Black Panther Party, who was working at the hospital when they bought in Fred Hampton's body. Named after my mother who raised my brother and I in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, NY. She gave us everything we needed and I while I was growing up, I watched her navigate the world to which I now exemplify those same lessons. She is the smartest woman I know. My Mom would like me to add that she loves red too.
